How to choose keywords your customers really search
The best keywords are the exact phrases your customers type when they need what you sell. Guessing usually leads to words that sound good to you but nobody searches.
Where to find real keywords
- Ask customers how they described their problem before they found you
- Type your service into Google and read the suggestions and the People also ask questions
- Look at the pages that already rank for those searches
- Check Search Console to see which searches already show your site
- Use a keyword tool to compare how often each phrase is searched
How to judge a keyword
Look at three things. Intent: does the searcher want to buy, compare or just learn? Competition: are the top results big brands or small sites like yours? Volume: is it searched enough to matter? A phrase with clear buying intent and modest volume often beats a popular but vague one.
Start specific
Begin with specific phrases such as mobile screen repair in Lahore instead of broad ones like mobile. Specific searches have less competition and the visitors are closer to buying. As your site gains authority you can target broader terms.
One main keyword per page
Give each page one main keyword and a few close variations. If two pages target the same phrase they compete with each other. Map your keywords to pages in a simple sheet so every service and question has a home.
Questions are keywords too
Questions like how long does SEO take are great for FAQ sections and blog posts. Answering them clearly in the first lines also helps you appear in Google's answer boxes and in AI search tools.
